After promising to allow the release of Shah Rukh Khan's 'My Name Is Khan', Shiv Sena did a volte-face on Tuesday as its men went on the rampage attacking movie halls across Mumbai where advance bookings for the film had opened.
Chief minister Ashok Chavan retaliated by warning that if the Sena did not allow smooth screning of the film, he would withdraw the Z-plus security cover of Uddhav Thackeray, prompting Uddhav to say he did not want any security from the state government.

The Empowered Group of Ministers headed by Pranab Mukherjee [ Images ] has cleared the Food Security Bill, paving the way for Right to food to be made a fundamental right backed by legal provision.
The bill is strongly supported by Rahul Gandhi [ Images ] and Congress president Sonia Gandhi [ Images ].
The bill which will now be circulated for opinions is likely to be cleared by the end of the budget session of Parliament say sources with the government keen to bring in the bill at the earliest.

After over a month's silence Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe on Thursday justified his 'shoe act', saying he picked up Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's shoes anticipating bomb plant in them.
On February 5, Bagwe picked up Gandhi's shoes while he went to pay tribute to Dr Ambedkar's statue at Ghatkopar area here.
The act created a lot of political controversy with opposition, especially Shiv Sena slamming Bagwe for being a 'chamcha' of Gandhi.
