A police jeep escorting Priyanka Gandhi hit a green Qualis that was part of her cavalcade here.
The vehicle is said to be her brother and Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's favourite and had been driven by Priyanka just a day earlier.
Though the rear portion of the Qualis was damaged, no one was injured in the accident, which took place in Amethi's Gauriganj town in Sultanpur district, about 150 km from state capital Lucknow.

The Congress has worked out a long-term plan for revival in Uttar Pradesh, a state that senior leaders claim is showing signs of fatigue with caste and communal politics.

With the issue of sugarcane pricing raising a controversy, NCP today defended its chief and agriculture minister Sharad Pawar saying the Ordinance on the ticklish matter was passed by the Union cabinet.
"It is the collective responsibility of the Union Cabinet and not Pawar alone. The Ordinance was passed by the Cabinet at a meeting chaired by prime minister Manmohan Singh," NCP spokeman DP Tripathi told reporters here.

A journalist was today arrested for allegedly preparing fake marriage certificates of famous personalities including Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif.
"The accused identified as Anand Purohit had paid Rs 5,000 to a broker of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) to prepare fake marriage certificates of Rahul, Katrina and Kalawati," Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime) Jitendra Singh told PTI .

The Union government has expressed concerns over serious security lapses during Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's last two visits to Uttar Pradesh.
The office of the cabinet secretary has shot off a letter to the UP chief secretary seeking stringent action against the errant officials.
The letter, written by the under secretary of Special Protection Group (SPG), cites two instances between August 17 and August 19 when the security of Rahul was compromised.
